Alexandra Ashley Hughes Known By Her Stage Name Allie X Is A Canadian Singer-Songwriter Based In Los Angeles California. Since Her Musical Debut As Allie X In 2014 She Has Released 3 Albums "CollXtion II" 2017 "Cape God" 2020 "Girl With No Face" 2024 And 2 EP's "CollXtion I" 2015 & Super Sunset 2018 . Trained In Musical Theatre She Worked In Musicals And Was A Contestant On Canadian Reality Show "How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria?" In 2015 She Also Co-Wrote Several Tracks On Troye Sivan's Blue Neighborhood And Toured With Him As An Opening Act. Lyrically This Song Is About Having Fake Friends And Being Treated As A Joke. “This Is One Of The Last Songs Written For Cape God. It’s Based On The Idea Of Being At A Party Or In A Social Setting And Being Completely Inebriated To The Point Where You Come Out Of Your Shell And You Feel Like You’re Part Of The Group. But At The Same Time There’s A Part Of You—even In Your State—that Knows You’re Not And That You’re Actually Being Made Fun Of. It’s Not Like Everything That I’m Saying In That Song Happened To Me. I Took It Really Far—like There Are Implications Of Sexual Assault. But I Don’t Think There’s A Song Like This Right Now And I Wanted To Write Something For Anyone Who’s Been Put In That Position Whether It’s Being Kicked When You’re Down Or Being Taken Advantage Of.
