Gli Arctic Monkeys, tradotto le Scimmie Artiche, sono un' indie-rock band formatasi ad High Green, periferia della città di Sheffield, nel nord dell' Inghilterra. I loro primi due singoli, ovvero "I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor" e "When The Sun Goes Down" scalano immediatamente le classifiche UK e l' album di debutto, "Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not", supera il record di vendite, dapprima detenuto dagli Oasis con "Definitely Maybe", di un album nel giro di una settimana.
"I Wanna Be Yours" is an adaptation of a poem by John Cooper Clarke, an English performance poet who first became famous during the punk rock era of the late 1970s. Clarke's work has been influential to lead-singer Alex Turner, who takes inspiration for lyrics from his poems. The Clarke poem "Out of Control Fairground" was featured in the single sleeve for Fluorescent Adolescent.
